The cost of living is affordable

Because of its cold climate, you don’t need air conditioning units to sleep comfortably any time of the day. During the summer season, it can be a bit warm outdoors, but this can’t stop you from strolling around Burnham Park and walking up to Session Road or SM instead of taking public transportation.

Walking in Baguio is a simple form of exercise because of the slopes here and there but it definitely is more tolerable compared to when you’re in Manila or Cebu.

Riding on public transports is also not a hassle in Baguio since jeepneys are everywhere. Jeepneys have fixed routes and since they are mostly found in the city center, it is easy for you to ride one for as low as P8.50.

Taxi rates are also cheaper than Manila. Taxi drivers in Baguio are known to be the friendliest and the most patient. The flag down rate for a ride is P35.00 and the drivers will take you to your destination without asking for a tip or charging additional. Even the smallest of changes will be given back to you.

Apart from cheap transportation, vegetables and fruits are also affordable in Baguio since Benguet province is known as the “Salad Bowl of the Philippines”. Fresh produce is readily available at the Public Market, which is also one of the reasons why restaurants of different cuisines in the city keep on growing in number.

Instead of spending too much on your convenience, why not live in Baguio and spare half of your money to travel around the tourist spots around the city?
