In addition to this article, Fabian also mentioned that in the entire Cordillera region, Benguet is still the leader in producing cabbage, carrots and white potato with 86.8 percent, 92.8 percent and 88.5 percent production, respectively, in 2016. As a result, Baguio City, being one of the vegetable capitals in the said region, sells some of the freshest and even cheapest veggies in town. Fortunately, business establishments and even universities, schools and international academies were able to serve fresh vegetables as part of their menus.
A&J e-Edu DC Academy is one of the international English academies in the city who supports bringing salad bars to schools. We at A&J do this not only to maximize the advantage of being in the region of top vegetable producers, but also to promote having a well-balanced diet and to address the concerns of our health-conscious students.
Salads are served with A&J Academy’s variety of dressings, which are actually our very own concoctions. The dressings that we make are as follows: Creamy Mango Dressing, Green Goddess Dressing, Vegan Avocado Dressing, Cucumber Mint Dressing, Sesame Seed Dressing, Tropical Pineapple Dressing, Classic Vinaigrette Dressing, Watermelon-Mint Dressing, Lemon-Garlic Dressing, Thousand-Island Dressing and Yogurt Ranch Dressing.
We also serve Kale salad, which is among the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, an excellent source of vitamin C, and a good source of minerals that most people don’t get enough of.
For our students to have a healthy studying life, they have to be nutritionally healthy. By bringing these salad bars to the A&J Academy cafeteria, We believe that we are making a smart first step to incorporating not only healthier, but also fresh foods into our meal program, and help raise global awareness about positive food changes being made at our academy. Health, aside from excellent education, is our top consideration in our academy.
